Rainbow Dash slowly opened her eyes. She yawned, stretched and sat up. It was morning now, and the rays of the newly-risen Sun were streaming through the open window, lighting up the room in a way that just seemed so fresh, and new, and exciting. Rainbow Dash leapt out of bed and trotted over to the window, leaning way, way out. She inhaled deeply, taking a good long breath of that fresh morning air. She smiled and sighed. Today was going to be an awesome day.
After her usual breakfast (which she liked to call "Whatever-I-feel-like-on-toast", today consisting of three slices of slightly overdone toast with raspberry jam and peanut butter spread liberally on top, with some swiss cheese thrown in for good measure,) Rainbow went over to mark off her calender, smirking at the picture of Fleetfoot in a sexy pose with the word "MAY" strategically placed. This day just got better and better. As Rainbow reached for a pen, however, something s

“Nine points! Come on, just one more settlement and it’ll be my third win!” Between six games, three wins was pretty good for me.
“Not if I can help it,” Blackhawk said. “Watch out for the robber!”
“B, that stopped working a while ago. Just stop,” Stripes laughed. “Unless a miracle happens, he’s gonna be champ.”
“Champ?” Blackhawk asked.
“Champ,” Stripes responded.
The two of them turned to me and started speaking in unison.

“Champ? Hey, Champ!”
I groaned and opened my eyes.
“Well, it’s about time! Morning, Champ! You must have been having one heck of a dream.” Dad was standing over me, his hoof moving away from my shoulder.

“Seriously? You’d never know it if you looked at him,” Mom said. Inkwell was sitting on top of my bed with me, patting my bare head, happy as a clam. The doctors had started my chemo treatment, but none of the side effects had kicked in yet.
“I know,” Joy responded. “I don’t get it, to be honest; he looks absolutely perfect right now. He hasn’t been feeling well for a while now, though. Some of his levels have been off, and his last biopsy could have had better results. If the tests from today come back with similar numbers as last time, then we’ll need to put him back on the list.”
“Maybe it’s our little star over there making the little guy feel all perky.” Dad smiled as he pointed a hoof at me. I couldn’t help but smile myself as I glared at him, but then I realized what Joy had just said.
“Wait, you mean he needs another heart transplant?”
Joy nodded. “It certainly looks tha

Down in Six Points, Part I
One dreary morning in the city of Manehattan, Weevil awoke with relief from anxious dreams, only to groan dejectedly once he remembered where he was.
The changeling stallion was lying uncomfortably on his insect wings in the same lumpy, undersized bed he'd been sleeping in for the last several years. Rubbing his heavy eyelids, he lifted his head up a little, but his view was obstructed by his belly that was so engorged it felt like a boulder tied around his midsection.
Looking to his left, Weevil saw his wife still sleeping on top of him, her body pressed up tight against his and her strong legs wrapped around his wide love handles. Their blanket had slid off during the night and was now sprawled out over the floor. Even worse, the heater must have shut itself off, because their room was so chilly they were both riddled with goosebumps.
He turned his head away from her slacked muzzle, trying to get away from her bad morning b
